about
As winter approaches, here is a slice of sunshine to brighten up our lives.
Hailing from Dunfermline, Scotland, ‘Say Goodbye To The Summer’ is the beaming third release from TwinsTown's soon to be released debut album, Brankholm Brae, via Whanga Records.
This is classic TwinsTown; trademark infectious guitar melodies and raw vocal harmonies from the twin lead singers, intertwined and layered to give that extra emphasis on their subtley provoking lyrics.
However, if you scratch beneath the surface of the bright, happy melody, there is a darker side to the lyrics, where Summer, on this occasion, could be a look back into a more carefree youth, free of the trials and tribulations of the present day.
There are big hints of The View and this is definitely a sing-a-long anthem that reminds you of indie rock and roll’s glory days.
lyrics
Once upon a time I was fine,
I knew exactly what I wanted to do,
Stop, pause and rewind,
Cos lately, lately, lately I haven’t got a clue.
Say goodbye to the summer,
Say goodbye to the sun,
Say goodbye to the summer,
Say goodbye to everyone.
Once upon a time I was fine,
I knew exactly what I wanted to do,
Stop, pause and rewind,
Cos lately, lately, lately I haven’t got a clue.
Say goodbye to the summer,
Say goodbye to the sun,
Say goodbye to the summer,
Say goodbye to everyone.
There's no more sunsets in your eyes,
There's no more drinking till early sunrise,
No more Monday morning long lies,
You're out of holidays and alibis!
